Inpatient Services
The Center for Behavioral Health, completed in 1997, offers
state-of-the-art treatment in a therapeutic environment. Located in
the Pomeroy Pavilion at Waterbury Hospital, the Center for Behavioral
Health features specialized units for the treatment of adolescents,
adults and older individuals.
Our approach to the treatment of individuals with acute and long-term
psychiatric and behavioral
disorders emphasizes an individualized and
multidisciplinary model. Our treatment team includes psychiatrists,
psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists,
activity therapists and other mental health professionals. Working
collaboratively with clients, families and providers, the treatment
team provides a responsive, consistent and supportive therapeutic
environment that is necessary for rapid assessment, stabilization,
treatment and after-care planning.
The Center for Behavioral Health at Waterbury Hospital is part of a
continuum which includes crisis intervention, partial hospitalization,
intensive inpatient and outpatient services. This continuum provides
flexible treatment options designed to meet the needs of each client
and his or her family. The availability of multiple levels of care
allows us to develop individualized programs that maximize therapeutic
results while limiting cost and maximizing convenience.
